Martial Arts Top Secret Training With Lieutenant X

I'm about to tell you a true story about the martial arts.

If you believe me, you'll be well rewarded. If you don't believe me, I'll make it worth your while to change your mind. Let me explain.

In what seems like a lifetime ago, I was the military intelligence officer for an elite Special Forces unit within the U.S. Army.

Our job was to “hardwire” spec-op soldiers with vital combat mission skills, martial arts training, and information.

Whether it was tutoring complex, multiple mission objectives, the usage of new technology and weaponry, giving a crash-course in native languages, retraining for unfamiliar hostile terrain, and even how best to handle local resistance- it was our job to teach America’s most elite combat units new information fast, efficiently, and with perfect recall.

My job as the newbie “whiz-kid” lieutenant was to bring the “old-dogs” in my unit up to speed on the most advanced and cutting edge learning and teaching methods.

Now realize this…Although I had been through the “works”, the brutal combination of Army specialty training schools, I was a young man at the time and had no “live” combat experience.

All I had were a few fancy degrees in education and military science, a couple black belts in the more popular Asian martial arts, and a hell of a lot of Army training.

Walking in as a “brand new” officer, I was supposed to teach-the-teachers, (some whom had been involved in every conflict since Vietnam) how to do their job.

At Our First Meeting, These Guys Scared The Living Crap Out Of Me!

You’ve seen people like them I’m sure - dead eyes that look right through you. Faces, arms, and knuckles corded with scars from years of live combat and countless hours of training.

You could smell the predator instinct on them. These men would kill you without emotion if it meant completing their mission…and then go have dinner, never giving your bleeding corpse another thought.

Then Colonel K., (my new commanding officer) addressed me. “Lt.”, he said, “We know who you are and about your martial arts background.” “We have all read your file, and it is us who requested you.” “We are tired of working so damn hard (a few chuckles), your job is to make our lives easier.” “If you can’t do it, I’ll have you transferred and get someone else who can. Do you understand?”

Over the next four years I reworked and refined their training methods with great success. What once took them days to teach, now took them hours. What took them hours, now took only minutes.

For example; by incorporating the educational theories of multiple intelligences and individual learning styles, I was able to cut squad based maneuvers, survival, and field medicine based learning times in half.

Using advanced mnemonics (memory aids) and other strategies; I was able to bring a dramatic new level of speed and efficiency to learning multiple objectives, mission assignments, and even learning foreign languages.

Now, I’m not telling you any this to brag, or to say that I’m the best. I just want you to fully understand what my job entailed, and how it led to the government taking such a strong interest in whatever I do.

Throughout this time, I become absolutely obsessed with finding a way to enhance the instruction of martial arts and military hand-to-hand combat. After all, I had been involved in the martial arts since I was 5 years old.

The UGLY Truth About Martial Arts

Most people don't realize this, but you see, most soldiers (just like most civilians) deep down dread a hand-to-hand confrontation or attack.

No weapon, no backup... Just the idea of trading blows with a trained killer- who might have the skills to rip your head off- just does not appeal to anyone. (Especially not an unarmed soldier, lost in enemy territory, who seems to have misplaced his entire fire team!)

But the fact is that we have to know how to win a fight- even against a trained killer. Whether you are a soldier, cop, or civilian, it’s your duty to protect your family, your friends, your neighborhood, and your country.

It’s our duty as men to protect the people who depend on us, and having the skills to do so should not take years upon years of training in some martial arts dojo. Or learning through trial and error on the street. Or potentially getting killed on the battlefield.

No, there had to be a better answer. There had to be a way to combine the remarkable new discoveries in brain-based learning with the physical aspect of learning martial arts and hand-to-hand combat.

Then Lightning Struck…Or Rather I Got Punched In The Face Really, REALLY hard...

You must realize that all this time I was required to experience much of the same exact training as the elite soldiers we taught. How else could I better evaluate and reformulate the teaching methods of our instructors?

As it turns out, I was assisting Colonel K. in an advanced Combatives seminar at a well-known Army base in Georgia.

He was demonstrating some martial arts techniques to a group of Rangers, and I was still trying to think of a way to make the lesson more efficient. Then out of nowhere, WHAM, he clocked me right in the face…right in front of all those people!

As I wiped the blood from my nose, I looked up and saw him laughing. I felt the rage boil inside me. “I’m going to kick your F’n ass, sir”, I said without thinking.

BANG!....He Was On Me Like A Fly On Shit.

He wasn’t mad. Just cool, calm, and all business as he basically twisted me into a living pretzel.

Now remember, I had trained with Colonel K. countless times over the past four years.

He had basically taken me under his wing and taught me (almost) everything he had learned about martial arts and hand-to-hand combat during his colorful but violent career as a Green Beret.

I literally saw each move coming before he did it, and was still unable to defend. I seemed to be trapped in slow motion, I just couldn’t keep up with the flurry of attacks. Finally he pulled a surprise technique out of thin air and he was suddenly mounted on my chest, his hand around my throat…still laughing.

My nose was still bleeding all over my face, and I couldn’t breathe so well due to the pressure of his 225 pound frame still sitting on my diaphragm and that “meat hook” he called a hand around my throat. I managed to sputter out, “Where did you pull that move from?”

He replied, “Son, I have more moves up my sleeve than Slick Willy has places to put cigars.” (This incident occurred about a week after the Clinton scandal broke)

“But that little maneuver I learned about 2 seconds ago from that nice gentleman over there.”, he remarked as he pointed to one of the Rangers. “The reason I whacked you was to see if I could pull it off in a combat situation against someone with some skill…and obviously I can!” The Rangers laughed.

That’s when I realized I had been looking for the answers to accelerated learning for martial arts in the wrong place...

Did You Ever Wonder Why It Traditionally Takes Years Or Even Decades To Master A Martial Art?

My mind had been clouded by the myths of muscle memory, countless hours of Kata, matwork, and trial and error, the “No Pain, No Gain” philosophy, and all the other outdated training methods we grew up with.

Colonel K.’s 2 second learning curve, along with my emotional reaction to being hit were the missing pieces to the puzzle I had been searching for. The answers were suddenly crystal clear.

For the next 6 months, I worked like a man possessed. I spent day and night developing and testing every martial arts method on the planet with anyone willing to give it a try.

The usual cadre of Green Berets, Navy Seals, Army Rangers, Marine Force Recon, etc., who came to us for training all ate it up.

Most of these guys were already good, and pulling from all the different martial arts simply made them unstoppable. However, I wasn’t satisfied...

To truly test the power of these martial arts styles I needed to see if it would work guys who had no fighting experience at all.

The greenest of the green. And there was only one place to find soldiers like these…Colonel K. made a few calls, and we were headed back to basic training.

Eagerly awaiting our arrival, the base’s top brass was waiting for us with a specially chosen test platoon. Immediately we saw they were all wrong. These guys were already lean and mean! What would be the point? We wanted the “screwballs”. You know the guys- Bill Murray and John Candy out of the movie “Stripes”, or Private Pile from “Full Metal Jacket”.

Heck, every platoon usually has at least one screw up, and we wanted all of them. We wanted every single overweight, mentally slow, or flat out goofy greenhorn on the base. The very ones that had been driving their drill Sergeants and their squads bonkers since the day they got off the bus.

That Actually Imprint Brutally-Effective Fighting Skills Directly Into Your Nervous System! What we did is rapidly “hardwire” martial arts and hand-to-hand combat skills by training "HOW" to be a superior martial arts student, “HOW” to shut off our natural mental blocks against avoiding pain, and “HOW” to pick up traditionally complex moves in only a few repetitions instead of thousands.

It's like loading a computer with raw data...so, without conscious effort, you can "download" amazingly advanced skills straight into your body's muscles and nerves almost immediately.

We proved “talent”, or “athletic ability” had little to do with how good at hand-to-hand you can become. Using these advense methods, we took those 20 “worst-of-the-worst” goofballs in basic training, and taught them “how” to learn combat and martial arts skills, and “how” to correctly apply them for super-human results.

Almost like magic, things began to change. In only 2 days using these methods we had completely taught the same exact basic hand-to-hand training that it usually takes 2 months for “good soldiers” to become familiar with.

And unlike the other soldiers who could only “remember” techniques, our guys actually “knew” them.

Their natural pain-avoidance reaction to combat had been “reprogrammed” with an automatic combat response.

From that moment on, whenever our misfits competed against any other platoon on base, they absolutely humiliated those who have never had any learning skills training.

So impressed were the upper ranks and the decision makers with our training, that for the next several years I was separated from my unit for special duty.

Lecturing at almost every major government training facility, I found myself teaching up and coming F.B.I, D.E.A, Secret Service, and C.I.A. agents the foundations of these learning skills.

And again, regardless of their size, shape, athletic ability, or intelligence, every single agent (man or woman) who received this training proved that “HOW” to learn is actually more important than “What” you learn.

Contrary to the popular saying, knowledge is not power. Knowledge itself is useless. It is how you are able to use and apply that knowledge that makes one intelligent, powerful, and in our case, a hand-to-hand combat and martial arts ass-kickin’ machine!

...and quite frankly, martial art schools, police academies, federal agencies, and most military instructors just were not, and still don’t teach these skills.

It Scares The Living Hell Out Of Them, And They Will Do Anything, ANYTHING To Keep It Under Lock And Key. Looking back, I should have seen it coming. Success always breeds jealousy. Because although the trainees loved us, their normal instructors did not.

Senior agency trainers were simply brushed aside when we would show up, and watch helplessly on the sidelines while we proceeded to take over their “show”.

Private martial arts instructors with “big, fat government contracts” to teach their art were deemed “obsolete” and released. And attendance at local dojos, dojangs, and other martial arts schools plummeted like a rock in water.

So to say that we were stepping on a few toes would be SEVERE understatement!

I don’t know where it started, but a slanderous smear campaign labeling our methods as the “Murder-By-Numbers-System” got back to Washington. Our easily swayed government officials were quickly convinced that our learning program simply makes people too dangerous, too fast. Amd before we could institute some sort of “damage control”, all training was immediately halted and our entire unit was brought together once again…this time in front of a congressional committee.

As I’m sure you already know, In this day and age of lawsuits, liberal public opinion, and the “sanitizing” of society, the “powers that be” are more concerned about their re-election than for the safety of our soldiers…more concerned about public opinion than the safety of our law-enforcement agents and police officers…and are definitely more concerned with fattening their wallets than for the personal safety of you and your family.

Needless to say...The hearing was quick and straight forward. A short, poorly shot, undercover video was played of Colonel K. teaching an unmarked platoon of spec-op soldiers. That’s when I realized we had definitely pissed off the wrong people.

Colonel K.’s voice boomed on the video monitor, “I'll say it again, it's NOT how talented, or how athletic you are that determines how good a martial artist or soldier you can become...it's how well you know HOW to learn the techniques, and how well you know HOW to make them your natural response to a combat situation.”

He continued, “When you replace your natural instincts to avoid pain with the type of combat skills we are about to learn here today, it’s like removing the safety mechanism from a loaded gun.

Yes, you still have the option not to pull the trigger, but if you want to…there is nothing holding you back from destroying your chosen target.”

“Crap”, I muttered under my breath...“We’re Finished” When I was called before the committee, the chairman, a certain congressman from California, addressed me. “Lieutenant”, he began, “It is this committees decision that all funding for your training program is to be immediately suspended, and are recommending with the highest priority that your unit be disbanded.” “Son, we respect the work you have done for your country”, he continued, “Had you and your Commanding Officers kept this information out of the public eye, we would in all likelihood not be having this conversation.

However, now that the general public has had contact…”, he paused, “From an ethical and political standpoint we simply can, and will not allow this type of dangerous training to be sponsored by federal funding.” We were disbanded, and all our information was safely locked away…or so they thought. There is much, much more to my story, including what happened after the hearings, how Colonel K. and I were “asked” to leave the Army, how I fought the U.S. government for possession of our training methods, how we wound up training Private Military Corporations (mercenaries), and even why I began to use the Lt. X persona to hide my true identity. …But now the time has come for you to make a decision.

Are You Ready...To take the next evolutionary step in martial arts and hand-to-hand combat training?

Are You Ready...To become a living, breathing, hand-to-hand combat machine?
