Deadly Martial Arts

Did you know that all forms of martial arts could be considered deadly martial arts?

Martial arts are a popular form of hand-to-hand combat that used to be used for military and defense purposes only, hundreds, even thousands of years ago, in Asia. While most martial arts today are used for competition, the forms, techniques, strikes, kicks, and blocks may be used in everyday self-defense needs. Some martial arts are considered more deadly than others, but all of them employ techniques that will harm and produce physical injury. Some popular forms of mixed martial arts are shown on television on a weekly basis, however such forms of sporting events have taken moves from many different forms of martial arts and combine them into a popular form of entertainment.

Every style of martial arts has particular forms and techniques that make it different from other styles and forms of martial art, no matter where their origins. For example, judo is very different than tae kwon do, and karate is very different from kung fu. Regardless of where a martial art originated from, deadly martial arts have been used throughout history in many different continents, from Asia to ancient Greece.

When learned properly, various forms and techniques of martial arts can be employed to not only defend against an attack, but to attack an opponent in a variety of circumstances. However, most martial arts instructors enforce the idea that martial arts are not to be used as an aggressive form of fighting, but rather for self-defense purposes only.

Deadly martial arts employ sometimes highly secretive moves, techniques, and hand movements. They can choke off air supplies, as well as induce broken bones and constrict blood flow in various places around the body. In many cases, instructors will not show their martial arts students extremely dangerous or deadly moves until student have displayed adequate amounts of both self-control, maturity, and know-how of the various martial art form.

While any strike, kick, or blow that is strategically placed may cause severe injury, most people who engage in martial arts sports are well disciplined in control, as well as the ability to limit the power of their hits, strikes, or kicks. Protective gear also helps to protect students and combat and in competition venues from severe injuries. While deadly martial arts have their place in history, their use in modern history has been less necessary.
