Martial Arts School List

The easiest way to find an instructor is to look for a martial arts school list, either in your phonebook or online, whether you have a child interested in karate or an adult who wants to learn Tae Kwon Do.

Martial arts schools are not the same. Depending on the type of martial arts you want to learn, you have your choice from such martial arts as Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Judo, mixed martial arts, Muay Thai and many others.

Before you even begin your search for the right school, you need to decide which form of martial arts you want to learn. Depending on the martial arts discipline that you're interested in, it might be a good idea to call the headquarters of that particular martial arts foundation or school. For example, if you are interested in mixed martial arts, you might want to call their headquarters for a list of qualified instructors in your area. The same thing goes for any form of Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Judo, or any martial art. Finding qualified instructors that are endorsed by federations will ensure that you receive the best instruction.

The really cool thing is, regardless of where you live, there are literally thousands of schools around the country that teach various forms of martial arts. Of course, you don't want to have to individually wade through thousands of schools to find the right one for you. To narrow down your list of martial arts schools, start with state listings, and then city listings, and then work your way down until you narrow it down to your neighborhood, whenever possible.

Finding a martial arts school in your area won't be that difficult, but it's another thing to find an instructor that is certified and able to teach any age groups and has the patience to do so.

Many instructors of martial arts disciplines that teach today were originally taught overseas or by native Asian or South American masters who have achieved black belts in their native countries. Whether you want to learn Kung Fu or Tae Kwon Do, or Karate, your best, and easiest bet to find a school in your area is searching though martial arts school list resources on the Internet. Always make sure that the instructors have received adequate training and are endorsed by the Federation of the martial arts form that you're interested in.
