Yeovil Martial Arts Centre
The Yeovil Panthers Martial Arts Centre is the most successful martial arts training center in Somerset. If you don't believe it, then just take a look at some of the students that have gone through Yeovil. Twelve of the students out of the 190+ members that are in attendance hold British titles. There are another three that attend that have earned bronze World Championship medals. Five have achieved silver World Championship medals, and there are even three more World titles held there.
That's pretty impressive, if I do say so myself! Hey, I'd join up for just one World title, but Yeovil Martial Arts Centre (renamed "The Martial Arts and Fitness Center" in 1998) has three World titles, aside from the other achievements held by the other different members there.
The Yeovil Martial Arts Centre was founded back in 1994 by Chief Instructor Sensei Kire, who himself has a lot of accomplishments to be proud of. He began training in martial arts back in 1976 in Macedonia, training at first in karate. He went on to turn semi-professional after that, participating in national competitions to increase his skill and his experience in the martial arts. He achieved the British Ju-Jutsu title in '96, followed by being undefeated in Full Contact Kickboxing, consequently becoming one of the top fighters in the U.K. in his category. The guy was great! He has black belts in karate, as well as ju-jutsu (fourth Dan), kickboxing (fifth Dan), and just to make everything look just a little bit better for him, he also has a First Dan Master Black Belt in tai-jutsu. The man's not so bad himself, is he now?
The Yeovil Martial Arts Centre is a really good place to train. It has a fully-matted area, as well as a four-post ringside, strike shields, punch- and kick-bags...not to mention training from Chief Instructor Sensei Kire himself!
How much better can it get? At the Martial Arts and Fitness Center, the students are encouraged to take part in competitions and tournaments to increase their skill and experience in the martial arts that they choose to train in.
Think about it. They've had such greatness come from one Centre. Maybe you're looking for greatness too. Or maybe you're just looking to defend yourself. I don't know, but you probably do, so just look inside yourself. If you're looking for a good place in the U.K. to train, The Yeovil Martial Arts Centre is the place to go.
